Tumut’s Montreal Community Theatre committee has taken on the role this year to organise an Australia Day event to both recognise community members who have contributed and excelled in various categories as well as celebrate being part of this wonderful country called Australia.
This years event will be held at Tumut’s Montreal Community Theatre in Russell Street commencing at 11.30 am followed by a free barbecue lunch served by the Rotary Club of Tumut and a family friendly Australian Movie, ‘Runt’ for all to attend.
Craig Silvey’s beloved best-selling novel leaps onto the big screen in a charming new Australian family movie. RUNT is the heartfelt and hilarious tale of eleven-year-old Annie Shearer and her best friend Runt, an adopted stray dog with remarkable abilities. In a bid to save their family farm, the two aspire to compete in the Agility Course Championships at the prestigious Krumpets Dog Show in London, whilst overcoming hurdles, obstacles, and nefarious villains. The all-Australian ensemble cast includes Jai Courtney, Jack Thompson, Celeste Barber, Deborah Mailman, Genevieve Lemon, and features newcomers Lilly LeTorre and RUNT.
